Wedding Package Thailand
Around 100 Chinese couples are expected to walk down the aisle at Nong Nooch Garden and Resort in Chonburi province on October 19th 2011 as part of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)'s ongoing campaign of promoting the county as a wedding and honeymoon destination to up and coming markets namely Russia, India, China, and Indonesia. The traditional Thai wedding will start with the groom's procession, or "Khan Mak", where trays of gifts will be presented to the bride's family, carried by the revered national animal, the elephant. Traditional Thai dancers will move to the beats of the long Thai drum, the "klong yao", to help set the stage for a festive evening ahead, and the couple will be blessed in a religious ceremony by saffron robed monks. After the reception dinner, the new mister and missus will release floating paper lanterns, or "kom loy", into the air as a symbol of good luck.
The wedding itinerary set out by the tourism board highlights the main draws of a traditional Thai wedding. However, depending on budget, religion, and personal preferences, no two destination weddings in Thailand are the same. Some couples might not want religious bearings of any sort on the big day, so they may wish to replace the monk blessing ceremony with a tree planting outing. Options are endless when it comes to exchanging nuptials in Thailand, but to-be couples can be sure that whatever they choose, the country boasts not only a variety of stunning natural backdrops, but also the world renowned Thai hospitality that will ensure no rocks are left unturned to make the Big Day as amazing as the love that brought it together.
If you think destination weddings are a new thing, think again. In 2009, TAT revealed that 300,000 couples per year from France alone opted to exchange nuptials in foreign countries. Other than the lure of exotic locations, a more practical reason is the bottom line. Getting married in countries like Thailand is known to cost just a fraction of the price for the same amount of celebratory arrangements. Couples also have a choice when it comes to choosing a backdrop for the big day -- the waterfall-dotted hills in the northern province of Chiang Mai, with tropical fish in an underwater wedding in Trang, against the limestone-speckled coastal landscape of Krabi, the sparkling Andaman sea from a hillside venue in Phuket, or right on the water's edge on Koh Samui.
On such a big day, it's really all the small things that make an already unforgettable day spectacular. And with the maturity of the second homes market in resort destinations such as Koh Samui and Phuket, many couples are choosing private villas as their wedding venue. Utmost privacy and intimate environs are the two main selling points of the hardware, whereas on the service front, couples welcome the dedicated service teams -- from personal wedding planners to full F&B catering teams -- to help them plan out every minute of the wedding day. From floral arrangements, fireworks, makeup stylists for the bridesmaids or accommodation and activities for wedding guests, there is not a single wedding package to fit all, but rather many a wedding package that can be tailor made exclusively to two happy people from anywhere in the world.
